L&T may bag civil contract for Bangalore airport

India's largest infrastructure firm L&T could bag the civil contract for construction work and cargo handling at Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) from the Air India-Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) consortium. While the total cost of the cargo-handling project is Rs 81 crore, the civil construction works project that is likely to be bagged by L&T is estimated at Rs 50 crore. It is reported the potential of BIAL is expected to be between 2,00,000 and 3,00,000 tonnes in the next few years.
